Lavender Brown and Seamus Finnigan. These two were not a couple people were expecting to see. They were friends, yes, but never more during their Hogwarts years. But a few months after the end of the battle of Hogwarts, they started a relationship. They had both gone through the battle and knew what it was like. They leaned on each other for support and within months there was even talk of moving in together. And they did find a place to move into. Their relationship progressed quickly and on their first year anniversary, Seamus found himself popping the question to Lavender. He wasn’t quite sure he wanted to be married, but Lavender had been dropping hints and it was a romantic scene, so Seamus opened his mouth and proposed to his girlfriend. Without a ring. He did get down on one knee, which Lavender said was part of what mattered.
Into the picture comes Cormac McLaggen. He was a rising star in the Professional Quidditch world and had just moved next door to Seamus and Lavender. They were former housemates and knew each other, though Seamus had never quite liked Cormac. It might have to do with the fact that he thought Cormac was much more handsome, charming and pretty much better at anything than him. Lavender was naturally pleased to have Cormac staying next to them and went out of her way to be a good neighbour. They got to talking about anything and everything, which annoyed Seamus somewhat. But still, he trusted in Lavender and believed that she would not do anything to jeopardise their relationship.
But when Cormac had too much to drink one night and came home to the wrong door, and with Lavender was feeling upset over Seamus’ seemingly longer evenings at work, the two had a night that they would come to regret. By sheer luck, Seamus had fallen asleep at work and did not come home that night. Lavender kicked Cormac out of her house and tried to forget that night ever happened. Cormac remembered bits and pieces of the night and was prone to tease Lavender about it whenever they bumped into each other.
From that day on, Lavender has lavished Seamus with more attention, telling him she loves him everyday and being the epitome of a perfect future wife. What happens now when she finds out she’s pregnant and isn’t sure whose child it is? Will she tell Seamus or Cormac? Can she bring herself to keep this secret or get rid of the baby?
