Mandy Brocklehurst was a woman who loved challenges. And when her friends asked her to approach the mysterious looking male in the corner on a girls’ night out, she couldn’t refuse. Cassius Warrington had just come back from Romania, where he had been unceremoniously kicked out of his job for letting a dragon escape. Naturally, he was drowning his sorrows and wondering what the heck he was going to do with the rest of his life when Mandy approached him. Cassius brushed her off, it had been a blonde, not unlike Mandy, who had distracted Cassius from his dragon guarding duties. Needless to say, he wasn’t up for any female company. Mandy pouted and went back to her friends. That was the first time these two met.
Neither recognised each other from Hogwarts. Mandy had been a rather studious Ravenclaw and had paid no attention to blokes during her seven years in Hogwarts. Cassius was a few years above her and a Slytherin who played Quidditch. Ladies? Sure, he had his fair share but Mandy hadn’t yet blossomed enough to catch his attention back then. The second meeting between these two was much better. Cassius applied for a job with the Dragon Research and Restraint Bureau in the Ministry and got it. Mandy was working in the Department of International Magical Cooperation. And they bumped into each other more times than was normal during Cassius’s first few weeks.
Mandy had sort of stalked Cassius, but well, the man didn’t know that. She approached him again. This time Cassius was in a better mood and the two started talking. It soon became a routine for them. He’d be waiting for her during lunch and Mandy would come up and tell him all about her day. It wouldn’t be long before Cassius found himself falling for the smart blonde. There was one problem. Or two. Kenneth Towler and Tracey Davis. Kenneth had been wooing Mandy for months to no avail before Cassius showed up and was none too pleased to have his Hogwarts rival show up and sweep the girl of his dreams off her feet. Tracey was one of Cassius’s flings back in Hogwarts and after years of trying to find the perfect man, is convinced that Cassius is the one for her.
What happens now? Will Mandy and Cassius have a happily ever after? Or will Kenneth and Tracey join forces and cause a wedge between Mandy and Cassius?
